Some of you may have seen this photo on my instagram back in the middle of the month. The same night were I dressed up for dinner on the lake I had Jordan take some of these photos. The sun was starting to set and it was getting cooler so I threw on this kimono and figured it would be cool to take some photos in. I ended up loving them so much more than I thought I would.

I definitely think kimonos were a huge trend this summer, I saw a lot of them in stores wherever I went.
I even bought a plain white one to use as a swim suit cover up. They are super versatile and look so effortless. You could easily dress comfy with some leggings and a casual tee, or belt it and throw on a bright tank and crochet shorts (also a huge trend this year). They're perfect for summer evenings because it adds a little bit of a barrier between you and the cool summer breeze, but it's not too heavy. Another nice thing is they make them in a variety of different fabrics- mine is more of a sheer fabric, but I've seen opaque fabrics with bold prints and even solid colors. I love how the sunset made this sheer fabric "glow" in these photos! I'm super inspired to try an editorial photoshoot with this kind of theme. I;ve been really pleased with how fashion has opened up a new world of possiblities and ideas for me to incorporate with my love of being a hair and makeup artist.
Hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do and that you leave this post feeling just as inspired!
