There's a lot to consider when venturing on a road trip- and yes, your choice of clothes should be one of them! Otherwise you could be that person wearing jeans in the car with broken air conditioning when there's a heat advisory.
I just got back from vacationing out in Michigan and this was the outfit I wore during our four hour drive.

I ordered this crop top because it was on sale for a really good price, but they only had it in a size bigger than what I usually wear, so I was nervous about it. Luckily, I really liked how it fit anyways! It was still cropped but it was looser, so it was comfortable while being stuck sitting in the car. There's nothing worse than wearing a tight shirt and sweating while in a car for multiple hours. I'm completely obsessed with this shirt now so you'll probably see it in a few more outfit posts.
I went for high waisted pants because I love they way they look with a cropped top, and these shorts were perfect because the denim has a little bit more stretch in it than some of my other shorts. Basically, pick pants you know are comfortable- no one likes sitting in tight pants for hours while traveling.
I try really hard to balance comfort and fashion when traveling, especially if I'm going to be going somewhere as soon as I arrive at my destination. Wear items you know won't wrinkle, and ones that you know won't pinch you uncomfortably when you sit down in a car. If you know air conditioning will make you cold, pack a lightweight sweater to hold on to. This outfit was perfect because as soon as we got to our cabin, we went for a walk on the beach and I didn't have to change my outfit!
What do you like to wear while traveling? Is fashion a priority or would you rather just rough it in sweatpants?
