Does the fact that I always emphasize the words "interchangable pieces" in your wardrobe ever get annoying? Too bad, because it probably ever won't stop!
While it is fun to grab the fun, colorful, obnoxiously printed pieces that are eye catching and super trendy, sometimes they go out of style or you find that they only work with certain pieces in your closet. I'm not against buying them, but when on a budget, I prefer to splurge on pieces I know I can wear more than once, with more than one outfit.
Case in point, this button up, which easily switches from day to night.

I'll post the nighttime version on Wednesday so you can start planning your date night outfits early. I use the term "day to night" loosely, because the nighttime look is casual enough to be worn during the daytime too, if you want to look a little more glam.
Normally considered a casual article of clothing, a plaid button up is a great item to swap into any outfit. I love it with leggings and boots in the fall, or with jeans and tennis shoes at any point in the year.
During the day I paired it with mid rise denim shorts and a tank top. I have multiple colors of this same style of tank top because like the t-shirt in my last post, they are an awesome wardrobe basic. Also like the tee, they introduce different colors throughout the year. I try to gravitate toward neutrals and colors that I know I wear a lot, so even if I think the purple tank top is pretty, I know that I shouldn't buy it because I never really wear purple. I happened to purchase a blue one because I know I wear a lot of blue, and also I knew that this button up had blue striping on it. I really enjoyed the monochromatic color scheme of this outfit. I loved that the bright coral lip I added popped when paired together.
What clothing item is your favorite to take from day to night? Check back on Wednesday for the "nighttime" look styled with this button up!
